I have lots to share today!! Some not quite knitting related but I wanted to share them anyway in case you don't get a chance to see my Squee Sunday post.
Here is the finished Corkscrew Scarf - I was so worried it wouldn't be long enough - I can't believe how long it came out!! For those who were interested in the pattern, I casted on 160 sts, knit three row and then began the increases. I did this by increasing in every stitch, purling back, increasing in every stitch again, purling back and repeating this until there were about 2500 - 3000 sts. Then I bound off with the fuzzy yarn. It was a pain in the butt to bind off and took two days but it was worth it. So, here it is:
My next pic is the friendship bracelet I made for Marie. For anyone who missed my explanation, the short version is we made a health pact to eat better and exercise and made each other bracelets as tangible reminders to do this and say NO to junk food.
Last is just a really cool picture that I wanted to share. Drew (my Assistant Counselor) was trying to take pictures of our camp goat Patches. Somehow, he ended up on the tree looking down on Patches. My timing with my phone camera was perfect - he gave me permission to share this and wants to know what you all think of it!
My final FO to leave you with is my Interview on Charlotte's blog - I hope you enjoy it! For more FO Friday posts, please visit Tami!!
I love you scarf, and that last picture is awesome! It needs to be framed and put on a desk somewhere, haha!
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is fab! Love the last picture too ;)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your interview, nice to get to know you a bit better :)
The scarf and bracelet turned out spectacular!
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf. I have plans to make one, just haven't gotten to it in queue yet.
ReplyDeleteThe corkscrew scarf is fantastic---and sounds like it was a real pain in the butt, too, so I'm glad it turned out that awesomely and made your days of binding-off worth it. :D
ReplyDeleteAnd the picture of Drew and Patches is cracking me up, it's so cool to have a moment of perfect-timing like that! ...And now I want to pet a goat!
That's a great scarf and a great post. I still love that friendship bracelet and the story behind it!
ReplyDeleteThe scarf looks great. I can't imagine binding off 2500-3000 stitches, but it does look like it was worth the effort. It looks like Patches is mischievous!
ReplyDeleteYikes at binding off all those stitches! Looks great though!
ReplyDeleteLove love love the scarf! It turned out amazing!
ReplyDeleteNo idea that was a goat....doesn't look friendly and I think I would be going further up the tree to get away from it. Plus screaming. lol Cute scarf. No clue though what purling back is, haven't come across that term in my knitting.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, awesome awesome pic of the goat! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe scarf is awesome. I love that it's long.
Good luck with the friendship bracelet! Let's hope it works as a great reminder.
Great FOs. Love the last picture, it looks a little like the goat is trying to eat him
ReplyDeleteLove it! Gorgeous scarf and the friendship bracelet. And the lil goat is too cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! It was fun to do!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Goats are lots of fun - they just chew on everything!!
ReplyDeleteHe's a trip - our official greeter! He's very nosy!! lol!!
ReplyDeleteIt just means that you're knitting in Stockinette stitch - one row of knit, turn your work, and purl across the next row. Hope that help!!
