Dr update info

So, with all the excitement from karate, I never posted the update from the Dr. She has me on CoQ10 and vitamins along with some other supplements. She hasn't spoken to me much about my diet, but I eat relatively healthy so I think she's not as worried about that. What concerned her was the level of cortisol (stress hormones) in my body. That test came back really high and as a result, my other test which was something about the heart, came back weak. I can't explain that one because I have no medical background but I understood it when she said it - I just can't re-explain it... anyway, I go back in December and am trying to be really good and take all my supplements as prescribed. On Tuesday, I have to take Jarett to an appt and am then going to the Dr's office for some kind of Biofeedback thing for an hour. At least, that's what I think it's called. I sound pretty dumb here, don't I? I'm honestly more intelligent than how I'm sounding, but again, I don't know what all this stuff is called... They put electrodes on my back and neck and it sends impulses, or something like that... Anyway, here is a picture of my lunch from the other day - it was one avocado sliced, two tomatoes sliced, a quarter of a cucumber sliced and the put olive oil, lemon juice and si salt over it. Gluten free rice chips completed the yumminess!

Demo Team Performance

If someone posts video for my younger son's team, I'll post it.

Here is my older son's team - he's the first one to do a back tuck (flip), the shorter of the two boys in the middle:

We WON!!!!

I am proud to post that both the Action Karate Feasterville Junior and Senior Demo Teams won this year's competition!!!! Talk about an adrenaline pumping day! My team (Jr) performed at 9:15. We were the last of the two sections to perform and then had to perform again for the head to head competition. It was awesome!! Two Tournaments in a row - I am so proud of the kids - they worked so hard and had a well deserved win! Hopefully someone took a video and will post it on u-tube so I can show you. Then, we had two hours until Matt's team (Senior) performed. They were amazing and it was close, but they did it!! Talk about nerve wracking - I was a mess!! My throat is sore from screaming so much!! Then, the boys had about an hour to rest until the rest of their competitions. Matt took first place in his Sword Creative Kata and Jarett took a second place doing Mass Attacks Traditional Kempo Kata. Bryan and I are exhausted but proud and Matt and Jarett are so proud of themselves. Keep up the great work - I am so proud of you both!!

What will the Dr say???

So, I had my tests last week and they weren't great - my cellular age is 64 yrs old - really scary!! I have been trying to be good and take my supplements regularly. I know I'm not quite exercising as I should, but I've been better. It does cut into my knitting time though... I'm starting to work on some holiday gifts but after I log off the computer I will do the re-bounder for a few minutes and then get back into the whole crunches and push ups thing. Hard to believe that a year ago, I was doing 500 or more crunches a day and 40 push ups in a row!! Wow, did I get out of shape fast!

I did do the gallbladder cleanse, and let's just say that even though it worked, I will probably never do one again. It was horrible and I was sore for days. I'll spare you the grisly details, but trust me, if you have a weak stomach and intestinal track, don't do it...

I have my list of pH numbers and temperature along with all the test results. The only thing I"m missing is the Stress Check results which aren't ready in the lab yet. It's been 13 day since they got it, but when I called she said it's 7-10 week days and since Monday was a holiday, that doesn't count. That makes today day 9... I really want it for Wednesday when I see her.

I used my Health Master and made veggie juice. It wasn't too bad - it tastes like a V-8, unfortunately, I just don't love them. I made broccoli Charan's way tonight - sauteed onions and garlic with some ginger in olive oil and the added the broccoli and pressure cooked it. I think I added a little too much water as the broccoli was softer than I would have liked, but I'll know for next time. Tonight I'm going to put out beans for soaking so I can have beans and rice tomorrow. See, it's the planning that I have to get together. Once I sit on the sofa, I'm done and don't remember to do a thing!!

Okay, off to put out beans and jump on the re-bounder! I'll let you know how Wednesday goes!

New Homeopathic Dr.

So, a friend of mine from work recommended Dr. Ria Gilday to me. So far, I really like her. You can check her out here http://www.drriand.com/ I had three test done yesterday. I am not happy with the results, but that is why I am going to her... I still feel exhausted all the time and even though I eat relatively well, my body is not functioning at it's best. Since I've been gluten free, I have come a long way, but I still need to learn how to handle stress better and I need to excercise. Yeah, I know I do, I just don't. I haven't been to karate for anything other than coaching in a good 6 months. Although knitting is super relaxing, it's not cardio by any means and that is what I really need... Okay, enough lecturing at myself and anyone who's listening!!

This was fun - she has this really cool Royal Chair in her office and of course, Jarett loved it. Here he is pretending to be King. Tell me this isn't cute!!!

Busy weekend

I feel like it's been a whirlwind weekend again. My brother's step-mother-in-law was in from WI for a conference in Philly. She stayed at my parents' house. We had dinner with her Friday night after work. It was a nice visit and we exchanged e-mail addresses and talked about my nieces and nephews. She loved my house and wants to get the kids here to swim in the summer. That would be awesome since I haven't met my newest niece in person yet!

Saturday morning was a driving craziness mess with Matt thinking he had to be at karate to meet Cara at 9 and then called me back at ten after to tell me it was the wrong day - he was supposed to be there at 9 on Sunday... then we had to get him to work at 12 for a birthday party at the Newtown karate school. We then picked him up again at 2:30. Later we met Jess and Scott for dinner and then went bowling. Can I just tell you that I really am bad... I broke 50 points and that was great for me!! It was fun though, as sad as I bowl...

Today, I am up early to take Jarett to Hebrew School and I teach a Hebrew reading class. Matt's coming with to help me. Then of course, we have Jr Demo practice this afternoon and Matt changed his 9 am meet with Cara to 5:30 so they can come to demo practice (they love working out the kids) and then work on their kata after the class... By the time we get home, it'll be time to pack lunches for Monday and get everyone to bed. Hee hee - they all have school but I am off - yay Philly and Columbus Day holiday!!!
