Messed up posts... CT visit

I tried to send posts from my phone while in CT. Clearly, it didn't work. There was no consistent signal there and somehow, one post did go through, but not the rest... To annoy me more, it wasn't even the first post that went through! The saying "No rhyme or reason" comes to mind....

Anyway, we went to CT to visit Bryan's roommate from college and his wife. Lori is the one who always is so inspiring with her creativity and thoughfulness. She had my parents come too because she knows how close we are and didn't want them to be alone on a holiday weekend. She made the sweetest baskets for us as a welcome on our beds. Here is mine, Bryan's and the boys" :

Here is the beautiful set up for my parents:

Of course, part of being such a wonderful hostess is knowing your company. Check out the fresh fruits and veggies that awaited me in the kitchen!! (BTW, how beautiful is her kitchen?!)

Needless to say, we had a wonderful weekend. It's always good to be home, but it is such a wonderful treat to visit good friends - especially when they spoil you!! I'll leave you with a picture of one of the bird feeders in her back yard with two beautiful yellow finches:

Now to delete the messages from my phone before they send like the others and mix up my weekend!!!

Seriously, I feel like an idiot...

I owe an apology to those of you who have commented on my blog. I hadn't the slightest idea that there were comments until tonight. After my knitting group, I went to edit my pages and put some pictures in my free pattern page. Low and behold, there were all the comments showing!! I played around in the settings and think I have it fixed so that I will now see/know when there are comments... Please don't think I'm rude, I'm just not tech savvy enough to know all of these things!

Now to re-email KPC and tell them I have pics!!

Jarett's Spring Concert

He was a Cowboy in "Go West!" He had this awesome dancing part that was glow in the dark. You can't see him - just the "wheels" they were spinning. It's not the best of videos, but I'll link it anyway. Here is a cute picture of him singing though! He's the one in red:

Jar in Go West

For some reason technology is not being my friend right now and my phone isn't sending the video to my flcker account... How annoying. Enjoy the photo anyway!

Free Pattern Link

With the help of some very sweet people on Ravelry, I've made a Free Pattern Link!! Thank you so much to sunshinegirl3 for all of your help!!

Cloudy, damp Friday

I'm wondering if it's going to be indoor recess today... looks like rain. It's one of those days when you just want to stay in bed and pull the covers up over you! I got a lot done last night with my knitting. Mary came over and we had lots of ideas for patterns flowing back and forth. She got my computer up and running for me! Yay - Mary, you rock!!

It has come to my attention from someone, that I had mentioned Raw Foods previously. So, the update is, I have found that while I do like many recipes, there are many foods that my body just tolerate or I don't like the taste of. Example, I can eat onions and garlic cooked. Raw, lead me quickly to a bathroom. I prefer my broccoli and asparagus steamed. I still like brown rice and beans. That being said, I love my raw fruit smoothies and am still figuring out a balance for raw veggie juice. For all of those "protein" people out there, I eat fish and lots of nuts. So yes, there is protein from other than veggie sources in my diet.

Time to get to school work. I wonder if the kids will be as sleepy as me...

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a BBQ and I got...... ready?...... a laptop of my very own!!!! I'm so excited!! So now, hopefully I will post more and can work on my pattern writing and get more e-mail checked. Especially since now I can't get into my e-mail at all from work. It started out just being the laptops, and then in the afternoons, hotmail was blocked. Now, the regular computers are just blank when I try to sign in. I don't understand it at all. Our computer teacher said he can't do anything to fix it either. Very strange... Anyway, I posted a question on Rav about making the pattern link to my blog so hopefully someone who has the patience to guide me through it will answer. Howard had no idea either which surprised me, but that is life...

Opened the pool

Since the weather has been getting warmer, it just made sense to open the pool. While Bryan was cleaning off the deck blowing leaves, Bandit decided it was too hot and he needed a dip. Here he is laying on the pool cover before we took off:

Isn't he smart? He just cracks me up!

So now came the time to see the ugly truth of what was growing under the cover. It certainly is green!

All I can say is "Ewwwww, algae!"

Now we just wait for the chlorine shock to kick in and Bryan to vaccuum...

Busy Weekend!

We saw Mark and Tracey and the boys - OMG - they got sooo big!!! They came in late Friday - they should've gotten here around 5 but they had a late start and then got stuck in traffic... so by 8:45, we were just sitting down to Chinese take-out. The coolest part, was that Brennen has become an awesome pianist which really inspiring for Jar! Then, we had no idea, Max has been playing guitar for three years. Matt has been playing Karen's accoustic guitar for a few months and just last Thursday, he bought himself an electric one! So now my walls are vibrating!! They had a great time jamming together (am I young enough to still say "jamming" or am I dating myself??) and Matt learned some new things. He starts his lessons next Thursday. We have promotion night this week so he had to wait. He switched his work night from Thursday to Wednesday so now guitar lessons are Thursdays....

Lori called Saturday night to confirm for Memorial Day weekend and invited my parents too! How sweet is that?! My parents are in WI visiting my brother. Michoel got his hair cut - he looks like a little man now! He looks so much like Yossi which is funny because as a baby I didn't think they looked alike... Anyway, when they come home, I'll have to see if they'll go to Lori's house. They may feel a little weird about it... I don't know... I think it'll be fun. Geoffrey will be in from college so the boys will have fun with him! I haven't seen him in years, probably since his Bar Mitzvah, since I can't believe he's in college!!

Then the weekend after that, we go to Mass for another karate tournament and to visit Mark and Tracey. She loved the fingerless mitts pattern I am writing so I think I'm going to make her a pair as a surprise!! Well, time to get back to work now...
