FO Friday!!!!

I finally finished my scarf for the next round of craft shows!  It's the usual cast on a lot of stitches and knit it garter.  I double stranded it with a plain blue cotton from Plymouth and a jazzy multi color Plymouth novelty yarn.  Here it is... taa daa:

Yay, finished scarf!

That's my quicky post for today, for more Fo's, visit Tami and Happy Friday!!!

FO Friday!

My two WIP's from Wednesday are finished and I thank the lovely Trudy to being my photographer.  I tried to take the pics myself from my phone by changing the view to front facing.  - apparently my arms aren't long enough.... lol!!!  Here they both are:

The self fringing shawl with that funky Plymouth yarn - came out pretty cute too!

Next is the very brightly colored scarf that I've been doing a million of - cast on about 200 sts and knit each row changing the yarn as you change your row leaving a tail for the fringe.  They're very quick and easy.

That's all for today - enjoy your weekend and visit Tami for more FO's.

FO Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!!!  I have three FO's to share with you today.  I finished my Fade to Black Scarf from my free pattern page.  I used all of the same yarn in the pattern except this time I used leftover Black Homespun instead of a worsted weight black.

Fade to black scarf

I also finished the charity Special Olympics scarf I was doing and am proud to say that Langhorne Knitters  have 5 finished scarves to send off and a few more on the way!!!

Charity scarf special olympics

My last project is my "last minute" mitts.  I wanted something just to either keep in the car for when the steering wheel is cold or to throw in my pockets - not for wearing as fancy and nice...  these take a couple hours and are super easy.  CO 36 sts, k2p2 rib to about 7 inches and BO.  Seam up the sides and leave a thumb opening.  Easy peasy!

So there you have it!  Enjoy your weekend and visit Tami for some more FO's!

FO Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!!  I have all of the scarves from Wednesday's post to share with you.  If you remember, my son's girlfriend's family all wanted scarves after I had made her one for the holidays, so I spent the whole week knitting and watching Harry Potter on DVD.   I have to start though with the scarf that I made for her mom.  I sent it over and forgot to take a picture of it.  So, I texted Matt to take a picture and send it to me.  This is what my smart-a$$ son sent to me.  To serve him right, I am posting it!! ;-D

Fwd: no subject

Not that you can really see the scarf that well, but I thought it was really funny and had to share!!!  This is the WIP pic, but you can see the pattern and the yarn much better here:

Patti's scarf

Here is the scarf  I did for her sister - nice and fuzzy pink!

Olivia's scarf

Here is her dad's scarf, with Matt posing again, but this time you can see the scarf!

I did finish the Special Olympics scarf but will save that for next week.  For more FO's, visit Tami and enjoy your weekend!!!

FO Friday!

It has been a long time since I've posted!  I do have a few things to share.  My son's girlfriend and her best friend wanted scarves so I made them each one.  Very easy knitting - use a size US 11 circs, cast on about 160 sts and knit in garter.  Takes about 2 hrs to make one if your watching tv and stop for a snack. ;-D  The all black one is Homespun - nice and soft.  The other is one of my crazy novelty yarn stash busters - just knit about two rows of each, repeat as desired for the width you want.  Here they are:

Haley's scarf

This one has ribbon yarn, left over of the black Homespun from my son's girlfriend's scarf and some sparkly black Plymouth yarn.  It's hard to see the sparkle in the pic, but it's there...
Scarf 4 Haley's friend Casey

Last item is the poncho I was making for my SIL!  It was about 2 1/2 skeins of Plymouth Encore on the same size 11 (US) circs.  I did a yarn over, knit two together pattern.  I think I had cast on 71 sts...  Anyway, knit till you have a rectangle and then seam one short end to the long end leaving a neck opening.  Oh, my SIL also wants me to post that she is single and looking of a guy age 37-47.  If you know anyone, let us know.  She has a good job and is self sufficient but unfortunately divorced.  (His cheating stupid ass fault, not hers)  Here she (and my poncho) is/are:

Squee Sunday post # 21/FO Friday

Since I missed posting on Friday, I decided to make this a combination of both posts.  We did another craft show this weekend and I must say, we are much better at displaying our items!  We will be pro's for next years' shows!!  If we learned anything, it's that you can't predict what people want - the only constant seemed to be scarves.  Otherwise, all three were different - lots of headbands went at one, lots of mitts and shawls at others...  but, how you display it, definitely seems to be big on getting people to buy!  Here is our newest table.  The lighting wasn't as great as the previous one, but it wasn't too bad.

2011-12-03 08.49.12.jpg

Here is a pic that shows lots of the FO I had done over the last two weeks - mostly mitts, scarves and shawls: (some of Mary's things are mixed in there too)

2011-12-03 08.49.23.jpg

I just realized that you can't see the mitts in this pic - if you look at the one of the whole table, you can see my hand dummy and the mitts are next to it.   So, that is my combo post!  Oh, and one more pic of the mitts I made for David's wife:

FO Friday!

It has been a while since I've posted on a Friday.  I've had FO's to show, but just haven't had the time to blog.  Today I do since I pretty much am stuck in the house.  Our hot water heater burst yesterday - yeah, happy thanksgiving! - and we are hoping that the plumber will be able to come out today to replace it.  I ended up showering at my parent's house yesterday but don't want to have to bother them again today... so hopefully, he'll come out!

Anyway, I have a couple of knitting things to share and a non-knitting thing to share.  Curious?  Here we go!

On the knitting side, I am working to knit up more items to sell for another craft show in December.  I have finished two more fashion scarves to replace some of the ones I sold at the craft show.  If you didn't get a chance to see how pretty table our table looked, click on the link - it came out really pretty!  Here are the scarves, not a fancy pic, but just so you get the idea:

Scarves

I've also finished the fuzzy gray mitts for the craft show too:

Fuzzy mitt

Hee Hee, I like that pic - my nails had just been done and look cute!!!  I had requests for mitts in gray, black and brown so I have more to try to get done of them.

Next are mitts that I made for a friend's wife.  Hopefully at some point I will have time to write out the pattern.  They came out (in my opinion) really cute.  My sweet friend Calophi modeled for me!

Here is a closer look at the cable:

For my final finished object, I had posted on Sunday in my Squee Sunday post, about my in-law's golden retriever having puppies.  She ended up have NINE puppies!!!  That was a huge surprise as were expecting 5-7!  They look like a cross between a hamster and a baked potato!  So here they are, only a few hours old:

Here they are with their mommy:

Of course, Jarett had to hold one!

So, that's my FO post for today.  For more FO's visit Tami and see her progress!

FO Friday!

It's been a bit since I've posted a FO.  I had a few projects that I was working on but some did not work out.  For example, the crochet hat I was so proud of, really did not turn out.  Seriously, my knitting group got a huge laugh and even dubbed it the "Devo hat,"  think "just whip it, whip it good!"  Here is a pathetic pic of it, just for laughs and to entertain you:

Sad Divo hat

That is a hand knit sweater that I made a few years ago that I was wearing....  anyway, please stop laughing so you can continue to read...

I did make two more self fringing scarves - same yarn (it is very pretty but not fun to work with) but two different sizes.  Here they are:

Shawl

Larger shawl

Here is a pic from the front (I think it's the shorter one):

For my final FO, and because I have no shame anymore, I set up a class project page with DonorsChoose.org.  It's a site to post a "project" that you want for your classroom and all of the wonderfully generous people out in the world can decide if they think it's something important enough to make a donation to.  The donations can be as big or little as the donor wants and benefits education.  For my class, I am trying to get enough money/donations to buy a laptop for my class so we can do power points, video streaming and more.  The computers we have are seriously old (I believe the are a 10.1 operating system and modern technology is up to 10.7) and don't have the ability to do any of the video/power points that would seriously enhance learning today.  For more information on my class you can go to DonorsChoose.org and under state, put Pennsylvania, under city put Philadelphia and then for the school go to Louis H. Farrell. (yes, that was a shameless plug)

FO Friday!

This week was a slow knitting week with all the school work I've had to do, so I only have the finished headband to show.  It's in purple (again - I took the pic at night so it doesn't look purple and my counter top looks yellow.... annoying...) and the flower is the one from the hat I am doing on my Wednesday post.

Taaa Daaa:

FO Friday!

I'm sorry to post so late - school is taking up more time than I anticipated and I had so much to do during the morning and my prep!  Next time I need to post the night before!!  Anyway, here are two pics of the baby poncho and the headband.

FO Friday!

Yay for Fridays!!!  I am exhausted from all these horrible thunder storms waking me up in the middle of the night!  I can't wait to sleep in a bit on the weekend - getting up at 5:30 is killing me!!  Anyway, even with all the tiredness and writing lesson plans, I've managed to have two projects to share.  The first is the cowl, which a few people asked about the yarn - it's not too bad as long as you pay attention to what is on your needle.  If you drop a stitch is a major pain to find it to pick up!! I don't know why the pic is so blurry - it didn't look blurry on my phone...

Cowl

The next is the head-band.  I'm not sure that I really like the poof on it.  For a little girl it may be cute, but I think I'll try a crochet flower for the next one  I do.
