FO Friday!
Hurray! Another Friday!! Long live the weekends, although with Hurricane Irene heading our way, I'd like this one to be over pretty quickly!!
On to my FO. Remember the corkscrew scarf? I made matching mitts. Here is the set (sorry about the blurry pic - my son took it):
If you noticed, I have the trim up on one hand and by the wrist on the other. I wasn't sure which way looked better so I figured I'd show you both and whomever (hopefully) buys them can decide how they want to wear them.
Back to Miss Hurricane Irene. She has ruined my weekend. We were supposed to have a 70th birthday and Retirement party for my mom (Happy birthday, Mommy!) and had to cancel due to this stupid storm. Yes, I called it stupid. I'm really mad at it and really have other bad words to call it in my mind... So, instead of getting ready for a party, we've had to baton down the hatches. Here is my patio table, sans cushions, tied to the deck rails along with the BBQ.
So, that is all for my FO's. Check out Tami's blog for more FO's and tune back in here for Squee Sunday and the announcement of the prize winner on Monday!

WIPW number 15
Welcome to another installment of WIP Wednesday!! I have two things I'm working on. Both are for the craft show, surprise, surprise... First up are the mitts to go with the Corkscrew Scarf. They are in matching yarn:
They are basically just a garter stitch square that I'll seam to leave an opening for the thumb. Nothing fancy going on except the fancy yarn trimming it.
Next is another Self Fringing Shawl made with the same Plymouth Cielo that is in my prize giveaway. I'm just doing it on bigger needles and adding one extra ball to make another a little larger than the first one.
So that is it for today's WIP's. For more, visit Tami!

"P" is for.... PRIZE!!!
Since I have been the fortunate recipient of not just one, but TWO prize give-aways, I thought I'd pass along the happiness. So here is what your going to get:
One big fluffy skein of Bernat Breeze in violet crush (I love the name of that color!), two skeins of Plymouth Cielo in a peachy color with a bit of pink running through ( this color is not photographing well, but two skeins is enough to make the Self-Fringing Shawl I made) and two skeins of Plymouth Eros which is a ladder yarn in pinks/purples/blues.
Here is a separate photo of each for a closer look:
So, what do you need to do to win? Leave me a comment and please include your Rav name or an email where I can contact you. The lucky winner will be picked at random on Friday and announced on next week's blog post! Good luck everyone! For more ABC's, pop on over to Charlotte!

Squee Sunday post #8
New hairdo!! I got red highlights and more feathers!! I was having a hard time with getting pics so I took this one of the feathers in my bathroom mirror. The color is a little distorted, but you get the idea...
Here is the back which I got my husband to take on the deck - I have no makeup on so you aren't going to get to see the front right now!! They don't look as red in the picture as they do in real life, but they are more of a "cool" red tone, not a copper red.

FO Friday!
Yay!!! It's Friday - I have a couple of "finished" to post about!! First though, I'd like to thank my dear friend Calophi for helping me out on Wednesday to post my blog to Tami's. We had massive storms and lost electricity and in that, our modem got fried. So, new modem arrived in the mail and the internet is back up!!!! Wow, was I going through withdrawal!!! Bad enough I have no computer at camp, but nothing at home either?? It was killer!
Speaking of camp, today is the last day!! This morning we will say a fond farewell to all of the animals and then I have a ton of cleaning to do! We got a lot of the Nature Hut cleaned up and packed away yesterday. Today though, I have to scrub the food bowels and water troughs to pack away for the winter. Handy tip - I've learned to cover everything in trash bags to prevent mice and spiders from getting to everything. It all opens up nice and clean for the next season!
So now, on to knitting. I've finished the swirly turquoise scarf. I really like how it came out too! Recap, I used much larger needles and thinner yarn which gave it the open lacey look. Please excuse my not matching green shirt - my son took the pic for me last night and I was too lazy to change into something else!
So that is it for today. Please check out Tami for some more FO's!!

Squee Sunday post #7
I won another mystery prize!!! I had so much fun on lyndagrace's blog! The object was to finish her mystery story. She was so generous in her gift to me too! Can you believe all that she sent me?? Here it is, straight from the Jersey shore!!
First is sock yarn:
Then, a beautiful sea horse pin (that I will probably use for shawls):
A cool "Long Beach Island" hat (which I just realized I didn't take out of the bag to photograph it, but I'm too lazy to take another pic):
A really yummy scented soap (I wish you could smell through your screen!!! Such a fresh scent!):
A really cool shore postcard:
And, a continuation of the Mystery Story on beautiful, fancy printed paper!!!
This was just so much fun and so unexpected and exciting - two wins for me (Kathleen's and now Lynda's) - I think I need to have a contest and giveaway now just to share the kindness that has been shown to me. So, tell me your ideas of what you'd like (I have a ton of fancy Plymouth Yarn that I could send!!) and what suggestions you have.

WIPW number 13
Wow - Wednesday sure snuck up on me!! I do have one WIP to show though. Nothing clever to sa about this being my 13th post, but to me there isn't much significant with the number 13. No voodoo, no fear.... just another number....
So here is my WIP - it's (surprise) another scarf for the craft fair. I'm using Paton's Canadiana in a pretty turquoise color. It looks more blue in the pics but it's really more turquoise. I have it sort of hanging so you can see the way it twists. I'm using size US 15 needles and the pattern is from Lion Brand but I've adjusted it for the way I want it to lay, thank you Trudy for your suggestions!!!
Here is another pic of it laying out to see how it looks flat:

N is for...
I really could not think of anything inspirational for me to dedicate the letter "N" to... I thought about doing "Needle Arts" but so much of my blog is about knitting with bits of crochet here and there that I couldn't think of anything new to say about it... other than that I love it, of course! My husband suggested the word "Nothing" and thought I should post that I really have nothing to say about the letter "N." That just made me feel sorry for the letter "N" and feel that I should write something... Then I thought I could write about "Nature" since I am the Nature Specialist at camp and I can post more pics of my animals... So, here you are - a pic showing how big my ducks are now:
They are losing their down and actually have feathers now!
Here is a really cute picture of my piglets snuggling in a hole they dug in their pen and covered themselves up with tree roots! Enjoy!
The lid in the background has formula in it because they drink the bottle so fast and scream for more so loud that it became easier to let them just drink it out of the bowl/lid. That way I can mix about 5 bottles full and they just drink it all up without crying and carrying on.
Here is Charlotte, being held by my husband:
And here is Penelope:

FO Friday!
The hat is done! Here it is in all it's glory - it's a bit tight for my liking but will be okay for a "youngin."
The other "finished" object I wanted to share is that my camp goat Patches (who is soooo ornery!) learned how to climb up the bent over tree. He just cracks me up so I thought I'd share. The alpaca looks slightly confused...

WIPW number 12
I only have one WIP to share - the hat I was doing last week! Funny short story though, it was the end of our Tuesday knit night and I realized I needed a pic of it for today's post so I laid it on the arm of the sofa and snapped with my phone. My friend Trudy who has become my photography critic, laughed at me and made me pose it nicer. So, here are two pics. One obligatory:
And one nicely posed:
Much prettier, right?! Thank you, Trudy!!! ;-D

M is for .... Matt!
Since I dedicated my "J" post to my son Jarett, it seemed only fair to dedicate my "M" post to my son Matthew. So, here we go, my 16 & 1/2 yr old who now has his drivers license!!!
Here he is modeling a donation hat to Israeli soldiers:
Here he is with his brother modeling the Bro Hats from my free pattern page:
His funny face cracks me up in this one - Jarett had onion breath!!
Here he is chillin' in front of the TV with his dinner:
With his new guitar:
With his brother at Jar's time capsule ceremony:
One of Matt looking all spiffy for his Sophomore Dance:
The "Buff Boys" at the beach:
And a good sport who ended up very well endowed!!! Haha!!
Lastly, pics of Matt holding his new cousin Walter:
I hope you enjoyed my "M" post! For more ABC week posts, visit Charlotte!!
