FO Friday!

The Diamond Tail Scarf is finished!! Finito!!! Done!!! Unfortunately, it is still wet so I can't put it on but here it is blocking:

Here is a closer up pic (does that make sense???):

I can't wait to try it on, but since it's blocking in my basement it may take a couple more days to dry completely. I was very surprised with how much the yarn bled though. It was dyeing my skin a bit as I knit it, but when rinsing it to block, I had to literally soak it four times. Even then, the water was still tinged with purple. I lost my patience and blocked it anyway. Hopefully, I won't get wet while wearing it and turn my skin lovely shades of purpley blue! To see more FO's tune in to Tami's blog!

WIPW

Here are some more pics of the Diamond Tail Scarf. It's coming along nicely and I am hoping to have it done for Friday's post! Here is the whole thing so far - it will be only about another inch wider when done.

Wish me luck that I get it done and blocked for Friday!! For more WIPW posts, visit Tami's blog!

WIPW

So I've been plugging along on the scarf/shawl and got tons done on our ride to Massachusetts this weekend. Here is a shot from in the car...

Diamond shawl in car

Here is my cast on for the tail. First, I did a backward loop (thumb or "e" cast on) but it just didn't give a nice edge since I had to cast on 72 sts. So, I ended up doing a cable cast on.

Here are a couple more pics:

Looks good so far, right? Well, guess what... I was cranking out the rows on the 6 hr. ride home and guess what happened?! Check it out:

General view of error

Can you see what I did? Four garter stitch rows in the middle of yarn over rows! Here's a closer look:

And here is even closer:

Really close error

How the heck do you fix that, you ask? You have to tink..... eight rows of tinking 300+ stitches!!! I was not happy... I couldn't believe I did it and then really couldn't believe it took me so long to notice I did it!!! Ugh!!!

Well, I am happy to report that I tinked and am moving along again.... it just will not be done for this Friday. Oh well... maybe next week... until then, visit Tami for some more WIPW posts!

WIP Wednesday

tami_wip.jpg

Join Tami and me in Work in Progress Wednesday posts! The Plymouth tank is ready to be put together!!! Ta-daaa!!! Here it is pinned together and ready to be seamed up:

Plymouth tank almost done!

Weird thing is, the pattern called for four balls of the Meteor, and I only used two.... It does fit me perfectly (I did try it on last night) so I don't know where the other two balls are supposed to go.... I think they may be put into a yarn stash swap party!

The other project I started is a scarf/shawl that I saw in MD at the Sheep & Wool festival. You got the pattern for free if you bought the yarn. I just started it, but here is how far I am:

The yarn is a Zohar Sock yarn, in Cool Rooster. It's hard to see on the computer, but it's shades of dark wine, inky blue and black. Here is the skein before I wound it:

Tune in on Friday for the FO post to see me wearing the Plymouth Tank!
