Stitching away!!

I finally am able to pull out a Passover tablecloth and Matzoh cover that my grandmother was going to make.  She passed away before she could... that was about five years ago.  I was able to take it out a while back without crying and decided that I should learn to do this and make it.  So, I bought my first cross stitch pattern and learned how!!  Not to shabby, huh?!  Now, I am going to make her projects!!

So much to share!!

Hello everyone!  I have so many things to share and don't know where to start!  I've become obsessed with instagram and twitter and have been posting there...

I'll start with the most important - Matthew!  We have a diagnosis!  Multi-focal neuropothy with conduction block causing demyelination of his nerves (if I said that right).  Basically, it's an auto immune disorder that is NOT genetic but they do not know the cause of it.  The good news is, the IVIG infusions have been working and he is 90% back to normal leg usage!!!  All degenerative diseases  have been ruled out!!  He will continue to need the infusions and their hope is that over time, they can spread out how often he receives them to hopefully one day weaning him from them.  So, HURRAHS!!!

I am having good and bad days, need to now go to a GI dr but have been putting off making the appointment... I know, shame on me but I'm so overwhelmed I just can't think of it right now... I did finally do the sleep study - it wasn't too bad and have to call next week to schedule an appointment to go over the results.  All I know is that there were no signs of sleep apnea, but a lot of sleep disturbances.  Well, I could have told them that - I know I wake up all night...hopefully, they can tell me why.

My new obsession - the TV show "Amish Mafia!"  Yes, I know it's not all real, but I really am addicted and got my sister-in-law into it too.  I would love to live on one of those big farms, take care of the animals and craft all day long...  speaking of crafts, I am back to knitting - yay!  I'm making fingerless mitts and also decided that is time I learn to cross stitch/embroider so I can make a table cloth that my grandmother had bought and never did.  It took a long time for me to look at it without crying, but all this Amish stuff got me into wanting to do it.  So, my friend Jen, aka calophi had her mom show me a kit to learn on and I am doing it!! I have lots of pics to share - so here goes - some knitting, some cross stitch and some of my silly puppy Zoey who not only sleeps in the weirdest positions, but has learned how to turn on the electric blanket and get comfy...  enjoy!!!!

Knitting again!! I hope...

So, a friend came to me with yarn that she bought to make a scarf and just could not knit with it.  I told her I'd make the scarf for her, but that it may take a while with all of my health issues but I would do my best.  I did finally complete it and gave it to her.  Of course, I was so excited it was done and to get it to her that I didn't take a picture of it... I did, however, take some pics of my secret (or not so secret anymore) yarn thief.  Yes, my dear sweet, innocent baby girl is not so innocent after all... so, without further ado, her is my love, my heart, my Zoey; stealing my yarn:






Silly, silly girl!!!  What else can I possibly say???

My newest obsession - the Amish Mafia TV show.  Yes, I know reality shows are really fake - but I am so fascinated with the Amish lifestyle (imagine all the spinning, knitting and sewing they do) and just can't help but be intrigued!!  I even got my husband and my sister-in-law hooked!!!

As for our health report, Matt is having another test done on Thursday and then we are back to the neurologist on Tuesday to get a report. Hopefully we will have a diagnosis and game plan.  He is responding well to the IVIG Infusions though, which is a good sign.

My Savella has been increased and I am feeling better although this cold weather does me in, but at least I'm not in constant pain - fibro under control!!!  Yay!!!  Until next time, I shall try to keep knitting!

Some happiness and cuteness needed!!

My son is still going through treatments and we still don't have a diagnosis.  I have barely been able to knit.  My house has been sad, sad, sad... so we decided we needed some cheer.  I share with you.... Zoey!!!

My Hero, my son

As some of you may know, my son has been going through some physical issues with his legs.  The Doctors still are not sure what is wrong - he now has three Neurologists keeping tabs on him.  We are hoping it's this conduction block neuropathy which is what they are leaning towards and have been treating him with IVIG infusions.  We are on the second round of it now.  He gets them every four weeks for three days.  We won't know until January if they are helping but he says he feels stronger and hasn't fallen down since the first round last month so that is a great thing!  Yesterday he had his six hour infusion and then had FOUR MRI's done - closed mri tube for two hours!!!  He amazes me...no way could I do that - he is so brave....  Luckily he is not missing school work this week - Sandy devastated our area and schools have been closed all week.  We were fortunate - no power for 44 hours and finally got tv, internet and phone service back on yesterday.  A lot of people in towns nearby still have no power...  really makes you appreciate things...  we had to push back his IVIG infusions because they didn't have power either... crazy... but we're somewhat back to normal now... anyway, just thought I'd throw a post out since I haven't posted all month.  I still can only knit a few rows at a time but the Dr just upped one of my meds so hopefully that will help my hands and I'll be able to get back to knitting!!  Happy November!

Absence Update

I haven't been able to post in a while... my son has been having some health issues that require a lot of attention.  We are hoping to get the bottom of it soon.  I have still been having a lot of pain in my hands/fingers and haven't really been able to knit.  So, my existence has been overwhelming and I haven't had time for many things... so, not much of an update - more of a "this is why I haven't been posting" post.

Long time no post update...

So, I am out of Physical Therapy and joined Planet Fitness.  I went for the second time today.  I'm supposed to get into a three day a week schedule so my plan is for Mondays and Wednesdays after work and a weekend day.  I'm thinking that if I go right after school before going home I'll stick with it.  Once I'm home, I don't want to move!

I have started taking Savella and I think it's working - it has been okay on my stomach so that is good!  I'm still having problems with my hands though but I'm beginning to wonder if that is more of the Osteoarthritis rather than the Fibromyalgia...  I still can't knit more than a couple of rows and typing is even stressful on them...  very frustrating to say the least!

I bought a medical ID bracelet but what I really liked about the place I got it from is that they have an online database.  So, the front of my bracelet has my name, allergic to gluten, Raynaud's Disease and Fibromyalgia.  On the back, they have the 1-800 number and the website with my pin number where I logged in all my meds, my husband's cell phone number, my parent's number and my Doctor as well as all my allergies.  If you are interested in the site, it's https://www.myihr.com.  They have different styles but I bought the "standard" stainless steel style.  Here is a pic of it:
