#Repost @matthoelzle with @repostapp. ・・・ October 4th 2012 I thought I wasn't going to be able to use my legs again. I was hooked up to an iv getting infusions. And my amazing mother was doing my homework and helping me through it all. I pushed threw and I never gave up and it's been 2 years since the doctor said I'm finally cured. Now it's 2015 and my mom has been diagnosed with RSD. Her left foot is black and blue and she can barely move it without being in pain. She walks with a walker and is currently training our dog to be a service dog. She's still pushing and fighting. I admire her so much for her perseverance and grit. I love you mom and I'm so proud that your still fighting. Keep you head high and I love you @mysticstitches #love #family #strength

#RSD #CRPS awareness continued. This is my "normal" with the beast of an illness. Slightly swollen, dark purple and painful. Yes, I've had my blood flow checked multiple times so please don't suggest it. This is a normal symptom of the illness. Again, just spreading awareness. We had this wonderful couple and their children over for a BBQ. My husband works with them at the day camp. He told them about me and everything that's been going on. They GAVE me a motorized wheelchair!!! I am in awe of how generous and kind people can be and I really hope that we start seeing more of this in the world. Such a blessing!! On a not so good note, I sat outside with my water bottle, pitcher with more water and salty snacks. After about two hours outside, I began feeling lightheaded and my heart began to race. My husband has a heart rate app on his phone. It said my heart rate was at 200!!! I told him he needed to get me inside. Once inside I didn't know what to do to help myself so I called @reevebetweenthelines She had me lay down and elevate my legs to as much of a 90 degree angle as possible. My son got my blood pressure cuff and no surprise, BP and heart rate were still high. Monica stayed on the phone with me, talking me through breathing exercises and telling me about a watch and chest heart monitor I can get. Eventually my heart rate came down to 104, which is ok for me and my BP was 111/69 which is really good for me!! I am really blessed to have all these wonderful people in my life - you have no idea how grateful I am. Monica, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me. #RSD #CRPS awareness. Apparently I'm having a flare. This is the most swollen I can recall my foot being. It's spread up to my ankle. I'm not sure what that means. @gooch2169 Do I need to worry?? I wasn't going to post this, I was actually blocked by someone the last time I showed my foot, but awareness for our illnesses needs to be spread. I hope all my #spooniesisters and the #spooniecommunity can support me in this. Whatever your illness is, we are in this together. There's no "I" in this. We need to fight for each other.

I just watched a video by @kandeejohnson and she spoke of the unkindness that's been going through IG, Twitter and Facebook. Mine is personal: I never, in a million years, would have thought I'd be in a wheelchair. I went from working as a teacher with two kids and a husband to needing help 24/7, in the blink of an eye. Just returned from a bday party where I was pretty much cornered in my wheelchair by an "older" guest who insisted that if I juiced if be cured. I tried to explain the word chronic, saw I wasn't getting anywhere and just sat there. Fun...
