I want to thank a few people who have inspired me throughout my knitting time, especially lately since I've been having health issues and haven't been able to knit in quite a while. So, to Mary (my partner on this blog and business partner in knitting) I thank you for your support! To Trudy, your friendship and support has gotten me through tough times more than you realize - words cannot express my appreciation. Jen aka Calophi, you have been an inspiration- your energy and positive outlook have kept me going on those Tuesday nights when I just want to lay down and sleep - thank you for your friendship!!!
For those of you who missed my Squee Sunday post, I wanted to recap and say that Jarett's Bar Mitzvah was amazing!! Here we are all decked out:He did an awesome job and I am so proud of him! That being said, I am still figuring out my own health issues with adding osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia to my already diagnosed celiac and raynaud's. I had to stop the meds for a bit but am restarting them and hopefully will have success. I was trying to crochet a shawl, but am finding that crochet hurts my hands and wrists a thousand times more than knitting so I may have to face the fact that I will no longer be able to crochet unless it's a small border or something. Here was the shawl I had started:
I had to frog it and am making it into a scarf instead. I was only able to cast on and do part of a row and then had to stop but at least I got some knitting in. I don't know how long it will take me to get it done so it may be a wip for a few weeks depending on my hands.... here is what I have though:
It's my usual cast on around 200 sts and knit in garter with fancy yarn that does all the work. So that is my update from here, along with not liking blogger's new format as it has taken me twice as long to post this since everything looks so different!!! For more WIP's visit Tami !
Sorry to hear about the wrist pain. I find the opposite (more pain when knitting) but I know that switching it up helps for me. I hope you are able to find a way to keep in some crochet time.
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness! So sorry about the growing list of diagnoses! I'm with you tho... if my wrists are feeling icky, I stick to knitting over crochet!
ReplyDeleteThat fizzy yarn looks epic !
ReplyDeleteYou and your son look fantastic - what an exciting day!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your health issues, I do hope you can get on top of it soon.
Lovely comments about your friends - I do hope they are reading :)
Mazel tov on your son's Bar Mitzvah! I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. Hopefully you'll be back to lots of knitting and crocheting soon!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks so much! Was not expecting a shout-out today, and with my cat doing so badly, it was much needed. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, Knitting Pirate commented! I met her IRL. Looks like our networks are crossing over!
Congratulations on your son's Bar Mitzvah! I hope you are able to find ways to manage your health so that you can return to crochet and knitting. :-D
ReplyDeleteI hope the meds help when you get started on them again! It looks like you had a fantastic time at Jarett's Bar Mitzvah :)
ReplyDeleteI love that yarn - it's so bright and looks so fun!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty yarn. I hope your meds will give you some relief.
ReplyDeleteI followed you from WIP Wednesdays and here is my WIP: http://likemamalikedaughter.blogspot.com/2012/04/crafting-along-with-needle-and-thread.html
Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThat looked like such a fun party! I've only been to one Bar Mitzvah in my lifetime.
ReplyDeleteI've chatted with a couple of knitters who crochet a bit and they've mentioned as well how their hands and wrists tire. I get those issues esp in my right wrist. Whenever I hook, I wear fingerless gloves from American Orthopedic Alliance Group. They help.
